Close to town, but surrounded by nature
Without leaving our property you can enjoy the natural beauty of the area either from our porch, or riverfront acreage or hiking on our 50 acres of woods. Listen for geese, ducks and other birds. Fly fish for trout in the well stocked tailwaters of the dam in our front yard. Watch for great blue heron, osprey or if you are lucky the bald eagles that fish here as well.
Enjoy all the Laurel Highlands has to offer
Make a day swimming and boating at the Yough Lake just around the corner. Take a break from your ride through from DC to Pittsburgh on the bike trail or spend the day biking shorter routes in either direction. Kayak or pick up a raft trip in nearby Ohiopyle. Make this the perfect retreat for trips to the 2 Frank Lloyd Wright homes Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob. We are centrally located to the ski resorts (Wisp, Seven Springs & Hidden Valley).
A great alternative to crowded resorts
Whether you are old friends looking for a getaway in the mountains, families planning the ultimate recreational vacation or a large family looking for the perfect setting for a reunion—the Riverhouse has more to offer, at a more reasonable cost than the local resorts. For groups larger than 12, consider renting both the Riverhouse and Treehouse (sleeps 6) and accommodate up to 18 people. The houses are walking distance apart.
Come back year after year and explore the wonders of the Laurel Highlands.
